Hazard Vulnerability Assessment: The first step is to identify the potential emergencies. Some are easy to predict if you work in a location that often experiences natural disasters. In today's world, however, we have to be increasingly prepared to respond to terrorist threats, pandemics, extreme weather and utility failures. Our Vulnerability Assessment takes into consideration what the possibilities could be.


Emergency Operation Plan: Teri Alameda Health and Safety Consultation Inc. will ensure the Emergency Operation Plan meets the applicable requirements of CMS Conditions of Participation (CoPs) Emergency Management; the National Incident Management System (NIMS), applicable accreditation standards (e.g. Joint Commission, DNV or HFAP) and the Hospital Incident Command System.

National Incident Management System: The Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency requirements for incorporating NIMS into the Emergency Operation Plan can be challenging because of conflicting time commitments and staff shortages. Our company can review your current plan and provide the resources needed to meet the NIMS directives including:

Emergency Management Annex Development:  For each high priority determined by the hazard vulnerability analysis, it requires an annex to respond to that potential emergency. Annexes can be developed or the organization’s current annexes can be revised.  The annexes will incorporate the Hospital Incident Command System.

After Action Report Review:  Review of the after action reports is provided to ensure they include appropriate staff response information; include strengths of the program and opportunities for improvement to ensure the hospital used the information effectively to improve emergency response capabilities and improved the Emergency Operation Plan.
